Sea Slugs

UPDATE: I came home to find that the sea slug is alive and well. It is trying to find hair algae but I don't have any so I gave it a piece of seaweed about the size of a dime and he ate it.

UPDATE:I clicked on this thread,read it and didn't care. BTW I got home and fed my dog and he ate it all

Glad you found it. Now you need to get it out & give it back to the LFS. They won't survive long without GHA.

Yeah, well I have all the GHA a slimy slug could need and mine died anyway. I knew slugs and salt didn't go together!

They are different kinds of slugs. The Sea Hare is the one you want. A healthy one will eat all the GHA in your tank in a matter of days. Also there is an algae that looks very similar to GHA but is toxic to Sea Hares. That is another possiblity.

I'm glad that your sea hare is alive. Sea hares can feed on nori. Sea Slugs of the genus Elysia can NOT live on nori. So, until you find someone to pass the sea hare onto, if you continue to supplement the hare's diet it will be find, diet wise.

I'm a jerk sometimes,sorry I thought it was going to be about sea hares or something not an update. I really didn't know what the purpose of that thread was so that's why I said what I said. LOL! Yea a total DOHH! moment! jk! It's all in good fun oooo you live in Socal too?? If you're not using your sea hare anymore or you need him to munch on some algae,i'd be glad to take him I've been looking around for one and no luck. I had a huge one I got off a fellow reefer but he died after a week suddenly Weird. Anyways, where did you get it from? The LFS around me has none and when they do they end up dying on them or something.
