Lolipops. Very difficult but not impossible. They can lose their tops and regrow them so if it happens don't toss it. Phyto eaters.

I am currently feeding Ultra Min S; Ultra Clam; Ultra Min F; Ultra SeaFan; Cyclops;
Is that sufficient? Any tips for other food?

They are pretty much phyto feeders. Your Clam Food will help but they really need something like DTs, Phyto-Feast or Shell Fish Diet. Very nice colony though.

I am in Germany so I am not much used to the food in the states. What is DTs? I have Tropic Marin Pro-Coral Phyton here. Would that also be a good idea?
By the way, the color is just stunning. Haven't seen sth. like that before. It was a good deal so I thought I should try it. Azoos just have that extra in their colour. Its truly amazing.

DT is a phytoplankton product, I don't think Coral Phyton would be good. Instead of phytoplankton it contains algae, brewer's yeast, spirulina, shrimp and shrimp by-products.

I just checked my dealer and he has the DT's Premium Blend on sale. As I have never used it before I am not sure how its been handled properly. Can I use it right away? How much do I need per 100l? I saw some people using a phyto breeder. I currently have no such device and also I am short of space. Is it needed?

You really should use a phyto plankton product. Those are ok but a live or preserved product is best. Reef Nutrition Phyto-Feast us a good product and available in Europe I believe.

DTs premium blend, That's what I'm talking about. As far as feeding it goes, who knows. You can dump it in, dose it but I would try to feed several times a day.

There are instructions that come with it. That is probably a good place to start. Them adjust per your animal.

I just ordered one of these from DD tonight, so glad to get this info I was going to ask any way. I already feed FM foods & DT phyto, & have a large black sea squirt that is doing good so should be OK.
Thanks all & Good Luck with yours Liam

Hi Jim,
Tanks for your kind words. Somehow it seems that everyone here in Germany wants to see me fail. Don't know why. Doesnt make sense to me.
Do you think that tupperware trick might work with Phyto also?

Cheers

I'm a little new to NPS. My one sea squirt seems to be happy, it like all the other NPS animals in my tank seem to open & close on their own schedule. From what I understand they eat mostly phyto. So I add a good bit to my FM mix that is fed continuously, & I manually feed some Reef Nutrition foods & more phyto 5-6 times a day.

You will find the group here very willing to help. We all want every ones corals to thrive! I have a SPS tank as well & have been on RC for three years now & while I have learned from & enjoyed all the other groups this group is my favorite!

hi axel
