sea star identification

I have a brown sea star that has 6 legs, its very small also, what could it be? Will try to upload pics later

That's an Asterina. If it's skinny-legged, it's probably one of a couple of species of brittle star instead.

Yeah, that's it, the brown ones usually, occasionally I find a tan one. Are these stars dangerous to any corals?

As i have read been known to hurt corals, better to remove then safe then sorry.

Brittle stars however i have found, good for the tank!!, i have two in a live rock and have not moved and they have gotten bigger since ive had them in.

asternia will hurt bi valve population if you have them.
