I usually feed my brittlestar once a week. He doesn't come out much, except for feeding. Anyway, here lately he hasn't been coming out enough from me to the food to him ( feed him krill). Can I rely on him finding detris and other available food or should I work harder to feed him?

Do you have fish in there that you also feed? As soon as the smell of food is in the water mine comes running.

I do have fish, and mine does run out like yours. But he doesn't come right out in the open all of the time. Usually he comes out in the same spot and its under a rock off to the side of the tank. I just don't want to drop krill down around him to let it decay in the tank.

I use some long tongs to get the food right to mine so I can make sure he grabs it.
