Sea Urchin Stung

I had a pincushion urchin, and I have a bad outbreak of aptasia. Well my urchin died and she was fine before the aptasia outbreak, does anyone know if it is possible for an urchin to die of sting?

Thanks.

Pincushion urchins are very, very sensitive to water quality. They are algae eaters, and need enough to graze on to live. I can't imagine aiptasia killing an urchin. Next to impossible. On the other hand (so to speak) I've been stung by pincushion urchins while diving, especially when pursuing an elusive fish makes me careless. It's no joke. Beaucoup pain, and tiny unremovable spines under the skin that stay there until they are absorbed by your body.

Thanks for the information. It must have died of not enough algae. :( I knew they needed algae, but we have one in every tank except my nano and they do great but they are tuxedo urchins or long spines. ackee - yes i have been stung, more like harpooned by a long spine and that hurt so bad, i cant imagine a bunch of little spines.
