seabae anemone

Pink and yellow aren't natural occurring colors for Sebae (H. Crispa) anemones. If you are seeing an all pink or all yellow picture or version - it has most likely been died that color and will be very unhealthy.

However - that being said that species (H. Crispa) is a host anemone...

my sebaes all host varying species or clown, and have been excellent hosts. You usually find them bleached out at LFSs, but if you feed them and they recover their xozanthellae they become a nice chocolate color. I feed mine regularly and they grow very rapidly.

i was looking at a web store and they had yellow orange and pink and just wondered about them

fjr - I'm fairly certain I know which web store you're looking at and those are died. However - if you can find a healthy sebae anemone (i would suggest looking at a LFS and waiting until you see one with a tan/brown color) then they will play host to most clowns.

Don't feel bad Kim. For the longest time my signature read, "Interests: Coral research and breAding". I didn't even catch it until someone e-mailed me asking if I fried the coral up after I breaded them.

 that is hysterical... when i looked up and realized that i'd typo'ed it in BOTH posts - i thought that was pretty bad!

Most likely. A uniform yellow color that covers most of the animal is a sign that it has been dyed, and very hard to keep alive.
