Seachem formula change?

Just curious if Seachem changed any of their formulas recently? The reason I ask is if they haven't, then I suspect my LFS might be watering down their products.

Case #1. I purchased a bottle of Para Guard from them recently, and when I went to use it I noticed it appeared to be a much lighter blue that what it had been in the past. I still had a small portion left over in my previous bottle, and after filling both caps up with the product there was a significant difference in not only color, but also odor between the two.

I poured it back into the bottle, capped it and headed off to another LFS for comparison. I brought the bottle in with me and explained the situation to one of the employees, and they allowed me to open a bottle for comparison; and sure enough, it was a much darker blue, and had a more pronounced odor to it, just like the bottle I was replacing...

I purchased the bottle from them and then headed off to the first LFS which I have always had a good relationship with, I spoke with the manager and explained the situation, she was willing to allow me to open another bottle of Para Guard, the only bottle they had left on the shelf, and sure enough it was a pale blue and almost oderless compared to the bottle from the 2nd LFS which I had brought in with me to compare. She refunded my money and pulled the bottle from the shelf.

Case #2. Yesterday I purchased a bottle of Prime from them, and I just opened it up, and it is dang near odorless, very light hint of that sulfur oder Prime is known to have. I dug my empty bottle of prime out of the trash can in my fish room and took both bottles upstairs for my wife to smell. I handed her the new bottle and asked her to smell it, she said it smelled a little like rotten eggs, I then handed her the empty bottle, to which she responded with omg that stinks, that's horrible...

So either Seachem has changed the formulations, or there is some funny business going on at my LFS...

I might add that I have had some other things happen that cause me to wonder, especially since in both instances the products were purchased from the same LFS...

I certainly hope that I'm wrong, but it seems to be more than a coincidence at this point.:strange:

I'm not sure but I believe the bottles have a seal inside when you take the cap off. are the seals there? Also seachem has a great tech support. I would call them and maybe they can say for sure.

There is indeed a seal, but I have discovered you can peel it off, stick it back on, turn the cap back on tight and it seals itself really well, so much so that I turned the bottle of prime upside down with the cap off and not so much as a drop comes out.

I did swing by another LFS tonight to compare the Prime, and honestly that bottle smelled the same. So perhaps it ages after a period of time and the smell becomes more pronounced once some air gets to it.

I sincerely hope its the case, as I would like to believe the people at my favorite LFS are genuinely good people. This is why I posed the questions to began with, in hopes that someone would confirm some things have changed at Seachem...
