Seaflor Special Grade vs Reef Flakes

Has anyone used both CaribSea's Seaflor Special Grade and Tropic Eden's Reef Flakes? Seaflor is cheaper, but I hear that it is much dirtier. I do not mind rinsing my substrate thoroughly, but is it as bright white at the Reef Flakes?

I have never used the Reef Flakes, but I love the Special Grade. Just transferred my 75 to a new place, redid the sandbed, used the Special Grade once again and glad that I did.

In my opinion, CaribSea (many different variety of sands under this particular brand) does not even come close to Tropic Eden in general. Tropic Eden beats CaribSea in all aspects from cleanness, uniformity to consistency. And yes it's bright white. :)

A little close up (my goby enjoying the sand):

And yet a little closer but the focus isn't clear since I mean to capture the coral:

I heard it's a little hard to find this sand tho.

dzhuo, that looks beautiful! I am on the waiting list with premium aquatics and hoping to get 90lbs for my 90 gallon!

what good is it if it does not exist?

jk, but I'll seriously get caribsea if RF is still unavailable after a couple more weeks.

and I'd be concerned if the quality of the new stock will be consistent with the old stock. considering how ridiculously long it takes to source this, I would not be surprised if the manufacturer uses substitute material.

That's definitely one of the biggest complain of Tropic Eden being in Germany. It just doesn't make it to the state fast enough; that's really too bad because lots of hobbyists are forced to go with a lower quality product.

Have you guys check eBay? I was told it shows up there from time to time.
