Sea hares are known for their mating aggregations. I've seen rings of 20 or more big Aplysia in the field. One of the really big species can produce an egg mass about the size of a volleyball.
 
I've seen some pretty big masses of Aplysia in the wild, but they don't even come close to the densities I've seen of Bursatella. I've seen them several hundred per square meter in one place. There's literally nowhere to step without smushing them.
