Seahorse Feeding Requirements

My girlfriend has been feeding her pair of erectus 1 cube of mysis per day (half a cube in the morning, half a cube at night). I want to know what everybody else is doing because we are having a major cyano/slime problem that will not go away.

Here is what I just posted in "Reef Discussion":

We have been battling cyano/red slime for a few months now and haven't found a solution. No matter what we do, the slime comes right back.

Here is what we have tried:

Skimmer (obviously)
Carbon
PhosBan
Purigen
Chemi-Clean Slime Remover
Chemi-Pure
Sponges to collect detritus, then dispose of sponges before they become nitrate factories
30-35% water changes weekly
Sand vacuum/siphon to cleanse patches of slime
We grow a bunch of macroalgae to help with nutrients as well.
Rinse frozen mysis before feeding.
RODI water reads 0ppm.
Replaced light bulbs.

There may be a couple things I left out, but even still, I feel like that list should get the job done. Nothing is working and we have been battling for way too long without results.

Reducing feeding isn't much of an option as seahorses need to be fed more than the average fish.

Suggestions?

She said she has read that 1/2 a cube of mysis per seahorse per day is recommended, but with our cyano/slime situation I am wondering if we are overfeeding.

A huge issue with feeding frozen mysis is to be sure you rinse it under the tap before feeding it out. The "juice" plays h3ll on water quality and adds bacteria to the system.

That amount of food is about right for a pair of erectus.

I only feed mine once a day. I use to feed twice a day, at some point they stopped being so hungry and seem to only eat a little bit at each meal. So, I tried only feeding once a day and they seem to eat better that way. They are definitely more hungry at feeding time. This also means less wasted food in the tank. I see them hunting for pods the rest of the day and they continue to grow and look good. So I know it's working for me. But I keep a close eye on them. Good luck.
