I think chaeto algae makes a great feeding station. There have been several reports of it working well. I have a pile of it in my tank. I drop my Hikari Mysis via turkey baster (god's gift to reefers) onto the pile of chaeto. It mostly lays on top with a little floating away and some sinking in between the strands.
The horses seem to like chasing the feed in the water column, snicking it off the chaeto, and picking it out of the strands because their snouts can slip between the strands easy. The chaeto keeps most of the food from floating away, and from going to the tank bottom.
Another guy on RC talked about how he made a chaeto wall with egg crate or light diffuser or something. He wove the chaeto in and out of the stuff and then stood it up along the back wall of his aquarium. It hids all his heaters, etc., and his horses spend most of their day clining to and swiming along the wall searching for pods. Chaeto is great for growing pods and stuff in.
Anyway, good luck, Kevin
