Hey Everyone.

I recently just got a Seahorse, and for a while, it was doing okay, but now, all it seems to do is hang upsidedown on one of my tree brach rocks. It's the only thing in the tank right now, but I am going to add two small Clownfish (Nemo)'s in it soon, as soon as they come in stock again. Any suggestions on it? And also, when I feed it, it eats really slow, and by the time it finishes with like 2 frozen brine shrimp, the rest that I put in has sunk ot the bottom and is being trampled by the snails and crabs. What should I do to make sure that my Seahorse has enough to eat?

Hi Richard, you will get more attention with seahorse specific help in the seahorse forum here on RC - Seahorses & Pipefish.

Some things that you would want to ask them are good food items for SH. Brine shrimp are considered very low in nutritional value and most keepers feed enriched mysis shrimp that is available frozen. They also routinely use items called feeding stations. Basically a dish in the tank that will help to keep out the clean up crew (your snails and crabs) and allow the SH more time to eat.

You also will want to ask about seahorse compatibility with clownfish. Some people have luck with this combination, others do not.

Best of luck to you with the new venture in SH care. The seahorse forum folks are very nice and there are some real heavyweights who lurk there (even people who breed and raise these fish) that can give you great advice.
