had anyone ever keep seahorses in refugium?? i have 110 gal reef tank and acrylic sump/refug with i build myself 40"x 16"x15". the refug end is15"L x 15"W x 16"H...

Seahorses need cooler water then a reef, do best at temps under 74F.

Seahorses are also very messy eaters and will lower your water quality, not something I would do to my reef.

They will also decimate your entire refugium pod population in short order, days not weeks usually.

IMO as much as I love seahorses, I wouldn't do that to my reef tank. JMO

Felix,
I have my seahorses in a modified reef tank but I built the tank around the horses,ie;flow, temp, lighting, corals, cuc, everything was chosen according to the needs of the horses.I believe this the only way to make it work.JMO.
Good luck!Becky
