First off I want to thank TMZ(Tom) for showing me your tank setup it was amazing and also all the knowledge that you give me about my tank and future tanks and last the corals I got are doing great in my tank so once again thanks for everything.

Now TMZ is the reason I want to start a seahorse tank since they looked beautiful and peaceful so my question is can I keep 2 seahorses in a 20gal long tank with a 10gal sump for my filtration?

I don't see why not. You can keep a few of the smaller species no problem in that setup. Hippocampus Kuda and Hippocampus Comes would be a good pair to have. Make sure to look for true Aquacultured/Tank Raised Seahorses. ORA has a great program for that(not familiar with other names, they are just what come to mind)

Yes, One or two pair of Hippocampus erectus would do ok in a 20- g . Those are the only species I have first hand experience with. They need height around 17 to 18 inches though and I think a a 20 long may be to shallow. A standard 29 gallon would do nicely. I kept a pair in one for over 4 years.

You are welcome anytime. Glad the corals are doing well.

BTW. I think I'm making progress on seahorse fry survival . Plan to post an update on the new set up as soon as I get ambitious enough to take some photos. I now have 3 fry at 49 days eating minced frozen mysis surviors from the old system. 28 healthy ones ,many are orange , at 29 days doing very well and a new bunch of about 35 at 3 days. The last bunch were small at birth ,so we'll see how it goes.

The adults, I keep 7 in a 75 g, seem to love it there. They just eat , hang on to the artificial corals and plastic chains swim around hold tails, puff up there pouches ,swirl together to the surface and make babies.

I had few artificials left over from a fish only tank I once kept.
Don't remember where I got them.

Got some new ones from ARC; Randy had some and ordered some for me.

Picked a few up on line here:

The plastic chain is from Lowe's or Home Depot or Value. Can't remember which.

Common stuff for garden walkways . I just snip it to the length I want and anchor it with a chunk of pvc and a zip tie.
