well I bought this tank a while back and was planning on setting it up for an anemone and a pair of clows, but some life changes caused me to have to rethink setting up a 2nd tank. So i tried to sell it with no luck, so i thought i might set it up in the future after I move and get settled as a seahorse tank.
I could use some links for info as I need to research and read a lot more. Here's what I have so far.
Tank is 13x13x20 RR, I'm going to replace the 10g bioball sump with a 5g so there's more room to work in that tiny cabinet.
skimmer- I can't find anything short enough to fit in the stand (unless somone can recommend something really small) so it will have to be HOB. was thing of the grotech HOB model.
lighting-not sure here. depends on what corals you tell me are compatible with seahorses, or photosynthetic gorgonians. a 70w or 150w MH retro would fit perfectly in the hood.
flow-I think I've read seahorses like low flow, so I need advice as to how I should go about doing this. was thinking about a mag3 or eheim 1250 as a return pump from the tiny sump, not sure if that is enough for the tank though.
livestock-not sure what species would be suitable for a tank this size (if any?), but I would like a pair and definitely captive bread. what corals are suitable? any compatible fish (maybe a watchmen goby or something similar?)
I want to do the best for the seahorses so if this tank won't be sufficient for them, please let me know and I'll call the plans off, or let me know what I can do to best suit them.
TIA
