Seahorse tank!!!!!!!

I guess it all depends on the amount of space. My 2cents, this set up needs to have its own filtration, such as a 20 or 30 gal sump with a fuge. A skimmer, a heater and lights. I'm guessing a 30-40 gal display would be pretty easy. Lighting could be fairly simple, depending on the tank size, Pc's or some t-5s will be plenty. The skimmer can be a simple and inexpensive kind, but needs to be consistent. A 100watt heater will perfect, as the temp will need to stay in the low 70's. I was also thinking we could do the background with the pond foam to create some nice caves and ledges for things like Ric's, shrooms, kenya tree's....things that don't sting. As far as water movement, the return pump would most likely be enough, but depending on the tank size we may want to add 1 power head (maxijet -400). The maxi mods would not be a good choice, due to the openings, a SH my get his tail inside and that would not be pretty :( Anyway I guess we can discuss this more on Saturday..........

P.S......40 gal tank could hold six adult SH with no problems.

One last thing, a cube tank would be my personal choice for a display, you could pile live rock up high and allow macro's to grow with occasional pruning.

Please see "Zoo tank updates" for an update on this mornings meeting.

George, let me know when you can bring down the foxface. Sorry you couldn't make it today but those things happen.

Just an off the wall thought, were do we want to get the Seahorses from? There are several places that offer quality ponies, but I think the best choice would be www.Seahorse.com Pricey, but probably the best in the business.

ok, here's a pic of my eventually vacant, currently overcrowded, 37G tank.

Tank dimensions: 30x12x23"
Stand height: 30"
ground to top of canopy: 57"

Can come with, depending on our needs:
Tank, iron stand, canopy(with a fan and 2 or 3 X 55/65W german PC, depending on what we decide), heater (dont remember the wattage),
CPR Backpack with surface skimmer box, and a Rena Filstar (P1) canister filter with all the piping for various return configurations.
You guys can come and check it out if we're are interested in using it for seahorses.

looks great Vince. That should work fine. We can probably use the whole deal. I'll come over when I return and check it out. Now hurry up and set up that 120!:)
