Seahorses at Reef-a-Palooza

Hi everyone! I was at Reef-a-Palooza this weekend and wanted to share some photos of the seahorses I saw while there.

Large H. Reidi selling for $140 each - this was the booth for some LFS in LA






Phil Your Aquarium's booth had an aquarium with 3-4 different species of seahorses. Only one was an ORA captive bred seahorse. The others were wild caught or tank raised.




An LFS in LA called Valencia Pet had a bunch of small tank raised H. Erectus for sale. Unfortunately, one of their "specials" for the event was a package deal for a 3 gallon cube and an H. Erectus seahorse. Ugh!

Dang...I am so bummed I missed Reefapalooza this year. Thanks for sharing the great seahorse pics. Those Brazilians were real beauties!

They all look starved to me. The only one that doesn't have significant weight loss is the really pregnant one. I've heard it isn't eating though. That may be from being close to its due date, but it might also be another problem, being wild caught.

Also, erectus in a 3 gallon? ***?
