Sealing a stand interior

I have some white polyurethane porch paint that I used, but I'm thinking that just poly would have been better.

I have that wipe on poly. That should work. First thing I have to do is clean it up. Looks like it has had water in it before. I bought it used . Doesn't look like the integrity of the wood has been compromised.Get out some sandpaper and the vacum, were gonna make a mess,,,,LOL

I would get the regular Poly, the paste doesn't flow (If you can get a rag to wipe on some poly you can use a rag to wipe up some water you want to seal this thing )and you want it to flow into all the cracks (thats where the water is going).

The stuff I have is really thin like water. It should work well . Only thing I don't have is a pair of latex gloves for my hands,,, figures,,,lol. Well, off to wal mart to get gloves. Also have to pick up paint for the back of the tank too.
I'm trying to get this thing sealed up before getting water into the tank. Gonna seal up the canopy the same way.

Im going to have to come by at some point to see thats tank. Did you move the 75 yet? You going to need a hand with that?

I haven't moved the 75 yet. It's going to be a while before I get around to moving it. Was hoping to get the 120 up and going and to the point of moving some of the coral into it before moving the 75 around. I rearranged the living room and got everything into a place . Plus I brided the wife into letting me leave the tanks in place for a while, the bribe?, well,,, a big screen TV.
I must love this hobby...lol
Bottom is sealed up and now onto painting the back of the tank.
Whenever you want to come over Chris just call to make sure I'm home, you're always welcome.

The nice thing about white poly porch paint is that it reflects light, which makes it easy to see in your stand when you need to.

This is what it looks like so far, I need to do another coat though.

The stain is a custom teak.

You can get it from either HD or Lowes, it is interior exterior for floors so it should hold up to anything you throw at it.

ok,, Stand is now white with one coat, going to do another tomorrow. Canopy,, where did I put it,, oh yea there it is .
Tanks Greg I like the white . It makes the inside of it match the walls behind and the PVC plumbing.
