hi, my rena canister filter is making my cube look like a shaken snow globe with all the bubbles. im wondering if it is ok to use petrolium jelly on the seals?

thanx.

The only time my FilStar ever spit out microbubbles was when the media became clogged (since changed to LR rubble). Is there any possibility one of your hoses is blocked or there's something else obstructing flow? I'd be wary of using petrolium jelly, it can break down some types of rubber.

it just puts a steady stream out. doesnt hit air pockets or anything.

the first compartment is packed with filterfloss, the second chemipure and purigen. may be to mutch.

i just pulled all the media out. am going run it for a little bit and see how it looks.

We used to use petroleum jelly to seal the lids on [exterior] diatom filters. There was at least a chance of water contact. I'm not, however, sure about submerging it in the tank itself.
