Sean Fan - ID needed

Does anyone know what kind of sea fan this is? I live in Bangkok and this one comes from the waters around Thailand. It is purple color and has white polyps. It is about 8-10" tall. It has only been in my tank a short time but is looking really nice.

Is it photosynthetic since it has white polyps?

That is really cool that you can get some and take home. All corals are photosynthesis.
