Sean's ever lasting battle 125g in-wall SPS

It's not cyano or Dino's (confirmed by microscopy) It looks like long brown strands that start to wrap around the coral and rocks. Seems like it make be some type of gemifela(sp?). Seems to subside overnight
 
Curious how your corals handle the blackout. I never had the stones to do that. I dealt with a brown snot for a long time when I started my tank. Then one day it went away. Seems common for those that use a lot of dry rock. Not saying that's the case here but I can understand the frustration. Good luck.

I am too! I have never done 3 days and in all honesty I am uncomfortable with it. Its all dry rock, so that could be the case.

Ill report back on Saturday with any results.
 
Im hoping I can do it. I literally cant see anything lol.

Also upping some doses of MB7 to help with nutrient competition.
 
Seriously man. I have seen such an improvement in ny tank since doing it. Sucks i cant take good picks with the leds. Maybe now with the t5s i can do better.

I was thinking to possibly run the coral food products and salt. I do not want to get into all the 2 part products because diy 2 part is just too cheap haha

Yea you dont have to do the Ballin if you like your 2 part. However the salt and coral food/bacteria are great. Coral a b v e ,nppro and probios are not bad in price and they last a longgg time. Also thr salt is amazing since its at 7.7 alk which is perfect for me. If i go above 8 i get rtn with a vengeance. Trust me you will like it

3 day black out should be fine, I have blacked out tanks in the past with no ill effects. Curious to see the results If positive may be heading in the same direction. Kent Tech M messed me up bad, same issues in two tanks, cyano and brown crud. Increased carbon dosing and have skimmers running very wet. Will keep ya posted on progress. Once everything stabilizes lets hit the Aquaforest. Would be unfair to the product line to start dosing in a tank that is already in a funk
