Search Function Problem.....Again!

Ok, I've had issues with slow and flakey / sporadic operation in the search function before but this is a new one. Here is the message I've been getting for going on 3 days now.

VBulletin Message

An error occurred while performing a Searchlight query: Search command version is older than the client version (command = 0, client = 1)...Please notify the adninistrator.

Anyone having the same experience? Anyone know how to fix it? I sent a message to the administrator as requested but I have not heard anything yet and if history repeats itself...well it could be awhile.

I thought it was just cuz I use my phone to browse RC...glad it's not just me. Wish it would work though, lol. I did the admin notification too, but nothing yet.

Experiencing the problem on my iPad for sure. Pretty sure on the PC too, although the PC seems to be having a different problem at the moment, getting the good old "Why doesn't the search engine work?" message right now even when logged in. Not sure if it is because I am logged in on my iPad and PC.

Yep, it occurred when the server crashed and rebooted itself before fully booting during the first crash. Mods are on it, there is a thread in the Feedback forum. Its a problem of RC, so regardless of the device you use, the message will pop up. Wiz.

Thanks Fish Wiz. Good to know it isn't just an isolated incident and that they are working to resolve the issue. Lot's of data on this site to manage!

Google allows you to specify that your search results must come from a given website. For example, the query [ iraq site:nytimes.com ] will return pages about Iraq but only from nytimes.com. The simpler queries [ iraq nytimes.com ] or [ iraq New York Times ] will usually be just as good, though they might return results from other sites that mention the New York Times.
