I'm living in florida, and i dont want to have the chance of losing a fish while it is on one day air from ilinois. does anyone know a good pace to buy these guys in florida, particularly south florida?
No I haven't been there personally. I heard that they sell mantises from another reefer friend. From what I hear, Florida aquacultured rock is pretty notorious for mantis-hitchhikers. ...not exactly something that a LR farm would like to advertise I guess.
I would think that they'd be able to help you if you ask specifically. Maybe just wait and see what their reply is. Or maybe make a rock purchase if they'll throw some in with your order.
i wish they had pics of mantis' . they have a good price but it doesnt say what kind of mantis they r. im looking for a spearer or Odontodactylus Scyllarus, or Peacock mantis shrimmp. but thanks for the info.
Hmmm, too lazy to search forums. Do you have any pics of em? I will be going to Tampa Bay Saltwater once i get my lights in, so hopefully ill get a freebee in the rock that i buy for my 72g.
I know alot about Mantis'. Once I find out I have one in the LR no matter what time, I'll get him out ASAP and put him in the tank he's supposed to be in. I just need good places to get th Mantis from.
Call Munsey at Seven Seas Aquarium in Pompano Beach, FL (954) 784-3588. He doesn't ship but he told me he can get O.s. and I'm sure he has access to the more common hitchhiker species.
He's like the unusual invert guy. He gets the neatest inverts in!
Wow thanks, you know how much he wants for the mantis' though? i might just try to get a hitchhiker when i buy m,y lr. but i dont have enough money for lr yet so ill buy it... thx kara.
