SEASL will be visiting the World Aquarium in City Museum on Saturday, Feb 24. This is a fun family event for reefers of all sizes. If you have never visited the City Museum, it is quite an adventure. There are caves and tunnels and crazy structures for kids & adults to climb. Even if you're not a climber, you'll have a blast visiting the museum and aquarium.

We will be offered a discount on admission to the museum provided we have at least 15 people in our group. The admission for us will be $6 for the museum plus $5 for the aquarium for each person over the age of 3. This is a good savings over the usual admission cost.

SEASL Membership is encouraged but not required. Everyone in the area is welcome to join us. Bring your neighbors as this event has something for everyone!

Please email McBeck or reply to this thread if you are interested in attending. We must have a minimum of 15 confirmed participants to receive the discounted admission price for this event.

Thanks,
Brad, Becky & Tom

Times? Will the museum require we arrive at the same time?

Not wanting to be seen with the rest of us, Lisa? ;)

I am thinking along the lines of 12 or 1, but nothing has been set yet. We might be able to arrange a means for latecomers to get the discount, but first we need a headcount estimate.

I am REALLY looking forward to this one. I took MiniMe over the summer it was a riot!!!

I have the two forms that need to be filled out for the group discount. Unfortunately, I can't attach Word documents to SEASL's built in email system. As a result, I need a real email that I can forward to.

BTW....when deciding what time you want to attend, keep in mind that they don't allow outside food to be brought in on weekends.

Additionally, we will have to have a pretty good headcount ahead of time. After we fill out the group form, they will give us a confirmation letter that we are required to show on the date of the event. (They are pretty cool though....if for some reason, someone who RSVP'd isn't able to attend, they don't charge us for that person (unless enough people cancel and we go below 15).

In other words, we don't all have to arrive at the same time but they want one check or one Visa or one Mastercard. We can't all just decide whether or not to go that morning and show up.

Basically, we need to get our ducks in a row. Please post on this thread if you intend to go.....we need to make sure we get to 15 people to secure our group discount. We are required to tell them number of adults and number of children.

I'll start out.

Curt Swearingen-----1 adult confirmed no children.

Wow!!! That's impressive.

(I'll be the audience member throwing sinking fish pellets at you). :D

I wanted everyone to know, we have the required number of adult admissions to qualify for the discount. More info to follow tonight or probably tomorrow.

Just a reminder to everyone, on Saturday Feb 24 at 1:00 p.m. we are visiting the City Museum and World Aquarium. The large group discount we are receiving is a substantial savings over the regular prices. The admission for us will be $6 for the museum plus $5 for the aquarium for each person over the age of 3. The regular prices are $12 for the museum plus $6 for the aquarium.

There are two important things to remember. They do NOT allow outside food or drinks to be brought in on weekends. Additionally, normally to qualify for the discount, a group has to all arrive at the same time. We all owe a debt of gratitude to Angie and Katie from the Large Groups department of the City Museum. They are making an exception for us knowing that some people are coming at a different time. I need to provide them with a list of any people who are arriving at a time other than 1:00 p.m. if you want the discount and I need this information very quickly. If possible, by this evening. Please list each persons name separately ( I.e. don't say the Jones family). Please tell me approximately what time you are arriving as well.

You can email this information to Curt Swearingen at mantisfreak@gmail.com.

SEASL would like to extend a special THANK YOU to Curt for taking over the reins on this event. He has pulled it all together for us despite being in the midst of tax season. Thanks, Curt!!

Thx,
Brad, Becky & Tom
