SeaWeed Veggie Clip

I bought one of those nifty clips for hanging sea veggies for grazers. After 2 days the only benefactors were my snails. I'm sure they each put on a few grams. I took a piece of twine and suspended it in mid-water. How do others offer the seaweed for their fish while keeping their inverts off of the "all you can eat buffet?"

This little guy would fit on a nickel with room to spare on all sides. Cute as all get out.

I've used many clips

I've used many clips

I haven't used any for several years now. They are a PITA. Still- for a small "Dory" you'll probably want to use a clip so nori is always available.
The Two Little Fishies clip is probably the best one I've tried.

I found a really easy method. I use a 1/4" acrylic tube that is long enough to hit the bottom and stick out the top and wrap the wet seaweed around it, then use a little zip tie (cut excess strap off) and tighten it to the rod. Then I shove the rod in the sand and it stays put overnight. I can slide the algae to where I want it, so it would be easy to suspend it. I usually place it about 1" above the sand so my larger shrimp can get some too and because its in the sand most of the snails dont get to it. I've only seen a snail on it once.

When I'm done I just slide it off and discard the zip tie. Very easy and mess free!
