Sebae Anemone Help

Hello, I am having a problem with my sebae anemone. I only had him 2 weeks, and he's been fine until 2 days ago. He went under a rock and shriveled, and has not expanded since. Today i placed him back up top where he usually stays, and took pictures. Any ideas what's going on? I have a 30 gal aquarium, all the water paramaters and salinity are impeccable. I am using a power compact & actinic lighting. Any help or advice would be great, as i'm new to the hobby. And sorry about the quality of the pics.

I have a Bubble Tip Anemone & every once and a while he will do the same thing. Just a few days ago he did it for a day & a half. Their a weird creature. They dont have a brain so you cant realy say their dumb...lol.

I wouldn't worry just yet.......what do you feed him??

When I feed him, sometimes he will do that. I was told that he is digesting it.

Thanks for the reply. I feed him a piece of krill every 2-3 days. But it hasn't eaten in 5 days. Of course, it can't eat now like it is.

I also soak the krill shrimp in Vita-Chem vitamins.

Now, this is only what I was told so it could be total bunk, with that in mind, sebae anemones that are pure white are doomed as they have expelled their internal algae that they live primarily off of. Someone who knows should respond as to whether this holds any truth or not. All I can tell you is my sebae anemone that I have had for about a year is nowhere near white in color, and has grown well

After I posted this, I did some quick research and it backed up what I was told. That being said, avoid white sebae anemones, also the yellow ones are dyed and not natural, mine is more of a tan to light brown with the purple tips

I researched quickly after my last post, apparently there is some truth to what I was told. So avoid pure white sebae anemones in the future, I also heard the yellow ones are dyed white ones. Mine is tan with purple tips, had it for a year, had a white one 12 years ago, same story as yours

Yes white sebae anemones are bleached, and alot of the time they dont survive. Sebae anemones also tend to be a little more difficult. They need alot of light, and really good water quality. If the anemone hides dont move it, that only stresses it out even more. Sorry, but more than likely your sebae will not survive, once they get that bleached it can be hard to bring them back to a healthy state.

If you are going to attempt another anemone in the future you should try a bubble tip.

I also tried to keep a sebae under PC lighting (my LFS said it would be fine). Unfortunately my sebae didnt make it either.

this is my healthy one under 175w 15k halides in my 125. i have had him for like 3 months now and he loves the bottom of the tank. just the right amount of flow to much flow and he moves. by the way if your wondering it is 10" big
