My local LFS just received a beautiful purple Sebae anemone. Would you recommend a sebae for a first anemone or something else? Thanks,

craig

Sebae anemones are not the easiest to keep, what kind of lights do you have? Thank size? Any corals?

There one of the harder ones to keep. Not an easy first time anemones at all. Are the tips the only thing that is purple and the rest is white? If so it's bleached so be careful.

This is just what i dont get. I tried several times to keep a bubble tip anenome for my maroon and yellow clownfish to no avail. I bought a sebea and have not been able to kill it. Had it in just pc lighting at first in my 75 now its under 400 wt mh in my 220 and very happy. One thing i do like about the sebea is that once they find a place they usually dont move. good luck with any anenome u choose

I agree, mine has been very hardy. The guy who I got it from kept it for a year under 96w PCs, and then it went right up under my 250s, and hasnt moved. I've had it 6 months or so.
It went from 6-12" under his care, and is 18"+ now.

Wierd thing is, mine went from cream colored with purple tips to cream with green highlights with purple and red tips. Its gorgeous now.
