hello all I just got a sebae anemone yesterday from my LFS and i dont think its doing too well. Granted its only been a day it just doesnt seem like its gonna make it. it was kept in a tank at the store with about 9 nems which included an LTA 4 sebaes and 4 btas. all of the sebaes were huddled around the lta for some reason and none of them had their foot buried in the sand. I picked the healthiest one there was which is slightly tan in color with one spot about the size of a half dollar completely bleached. the nems total size is about 4-5 inches. it is still somewhat sticky to the touch and opens up. it hasnt moved from where i put it yesterday which is on the sand up against LR. should i try and physically bury the foot? I tried to feed it this morning a small piece of krill but it just "dumped" it on the sand. I know I should probably wait a week before spazzing im just trying to see if I can do any precautionary things that may bring it back to health faster.

params are amm-0 rites-0 rates-0 ph-8.2 SG 1.026

I tried to post a pic but its too large and i dont have editing software. Any help is appreciated thanks

Your water parameters look good, that is the most essential thing you can provide a newly acquired anemone. I'm sure you know about the lighting requirements for that species (bright, but not as intense as some of the host species). Water movement should be moderate. I don't think you should try to bury its foot. It will do that if it's going to dig in.

ok sounds good, ya i forgot to mention lighting, its under 2- 175 MH in a 75 so about 24 inches down. Gary you said if its going to dig. Do they not bury themselves sometimes? Thanks for the reply

your wording just made me think maybe they dont bury their foot sometimes. That either they just sit on top of the sand or stick to rock. as far as feeding, should i leave it be for about a week or more , or should i try to feed daily until it accepts?
