Sediment Filter Options for RO/DI

So I'm looking at options for sediment filters for my RO/DI setup. As my tap runs around 650ppm the standard 10" filter doesn't last as long as I would like and is a pain to remove from the triple cannister setup I have. First option is just to buy another single cannister and mount it before my setup and turn what is now the sediment filter cannister into another carbon. Another option is to go for a second prefilter in an additional cannister that has a larger micron size filtration. Third I could also go with a larger filter setup like the 20" Big Blue that would hopefully last longer. Anyone have any thoughts on the subject?

TDS has very little to do with how long a prefilter will last. Suspended solids will clog it prematurely though.
I would suggest a new product that Spectrapure just made available, its a 0.2 micron pleated prefilter that has 10x more surface area as a normal poly prefilter. With the additional surface area it should last you much longer.

Spectrapure is kind of proud of that thing aren't they. $25 for one sediment filter. Thanks but that one seems a bit pricy for what it offers. I'm seriously considering adding a whole house filter.
