Seeding Coralline

Hey all,

Decided to bust off a purple chunk of Coralline tonight and mashed it into a dust inside a cup of water then spread it throughout my tank with the powerhead, hopefully this will work out and help to spread it a little faster. (tanks 7 months old, have a little bit of purple in spot's, but nothing too impressive) Curious if anyone has done this and had good results?

Param's:
Temp: 78-79
PH: 8.2
Ammonia: 0PPM
Nitrite: 0PPM
Nitrate: 2-4 PPM
Phosphate: less then 0.25 but not sure what exactly (Damn API test)
Calcium: 400
Alk: 10dKH
Mag: * No test yet

20 percent Weekly water changes with Reef Crystal's and Calcium Chloride solution dosing everyday, havent had to touch my Alk much yet. Might have to when I switch to biweekly water changes soon.

I read somewhere on here that if you keep your mag around or over 1350 it will spread fast. My tank was covered in it in about 3 months and I keep my mag at around there constantly.

Does this look like some good growth to you guys?

Took some pictures this morning and my shaded area's of Real Reef (fake rock) look to have turned from the fake blue to a real coralline purple. Super excited.

You get a little tired of cleaning it off ths side glasses though.

Is that your tank? Looks beautiful, I like all that coralline :)

This is my first tank so I really dig seeing it grow, as I thought it was a sign of doing something right xD

It is definitely a sign that your doing something right, but tanks do look better (in my opinion) with it cleaned off the walls, they look deeper and more natural.

It will come, no matter if you attempt to spread it or not, it will happen, just be patient and keep your water chem stable and it will happen.

Right on, I'll keep doing what I'm doing :)
