Seeding liverock question.

I recently inherited about 150lbs of live rock from a fellow reefer after his meltdown. Unfortunately it has been out of water for about two weeks and is obviously no longer alive. Is it possible to seed this rock with just live sand and rubble? If so how much live sand and rubble would be needed to efficiently and effectually seed the rock?

Thanks

well if its just sand then i'd say its gonna take a long time, but it could possibly be done...but i really cant say how long. If you were to seed it w/whole rocks, (say 30 or 40 lbs) it could prolly go in like..oh...couple months? Also, i think thats someone said that you can start with just plain rock and it will eventually get the bacteria on it, (like thru a cycle) but it obviously wont get all the critters. Oh, and whatever you do, make sure you clean that stuff off really good to get out all the dead stuff/nutrients.

Liverock will seed itself if you are talking about bacteria colonization. Which is really the most important thing about liverock.
