SEIO 1500 won't start?

I recently picked up a SEIO 1500 and am having problems with it starting (like so many others have). I emailed RIO and they said they had very few reports about this happening, but they assured me that if I sent this one in, I would get one without the problem. I'll send mine in next week, so we'll see.

I suggest if you have one and are having a problem, please email RIO and let them know. Maybe, just maybe, they will realize there really is a problem with these 1500's and can do something about it.

I bought two myself and already sent one back, and now the replacement is having the same problem!

They are a real pain in the a## if you have to shut them off for any reason.

To fix, take it out of the tank, remove the impeller completely and put it back in. Then start it about 1-2" from the top of the tank. If it doesn't work, try this again. This is what I am doing.

I just picked up a 2600 as well, hoping that it works better. If not, you'll see a flash sale on eBay and I'm upgrading to Tunze.
