My seio craped out on my again. This is the third time one of me seios has stopped working. I turned off the pumped on Sunday to take them out and clean them, and when I got them back in one didn't want to start up for almost two hours. Well last night we had a 20 second power outage and when they came back on one of the seios didn't come back on. Well it has been 24 hours and still not on.
Is this a big problem with seio's? They cost too much money for this kind of crap. Is there some kind of reset on these? All of these of less than three months old, most have only seen water less than two months. This is not right, to charge some much for a peice of crap that can't even handle a power flux.

Not sure on the Seio...but I am a big fan of Tunze products...they can last 20 years or more if taken care of properly...hard to beat German technology and the service of rvitko if something does go wrong.

did you try tapping it on the side- sometimes that will get it going again- it works on some of my pumps and filters. worth a shot anyway.

They arent menat to started then stopped, I keep a little screw driver around to hit the blue impellor when they stop from turning them off.

Raise them up out of the water. If they don't start spinning, loosen the main large knob over the output(if you have them mounted tunze style w/o the main cover).

Thanks all I finally got it started again, I had to take it out and beat it. I tried yesterday a couple of times to tap it to get it started, it would start and a stop again after a few minutes. Hopefully this time they stay running.
For that kind of money we should not have to do that.
Maybe they aren't meant to be started and then stopped, but you have to stop them for cleaning. and you never know when you'll have a power outage. They should have just been designed a little better.

yup, loosening that ring sometimes helps. The few times I've had mine not kick back on after cleaning, I simply unplugged it and replugged it back in a couple of times and it started back up. I've been using mine for almost 9 months now and they've given me very few issues of non-starting.

My 620's I've had almost 2 years and they are a little more sensitive. My 1500's almost always kick back on. I think one time when I didn't clean them for a few months I had to loosen the ring and then no problem. The 1500's I think I could even use them on a wavemaker since they restart so well. The 620's would be a definite no. Size of motor I guess. I'm not sure about my 1100 in the sump as I've only had it about a month.

My 3 1500 have never been cleaned and they start right back up every time.. And they are 1.5 years old. My 820 fires up everytime to and it 2.5 years old.

Happened to me once with my 1100. Took it apart and cleaned out the goop. Put it back in the tank and no problem! Started right up and has restarted every time since.
