Seio owners

Is two seio 820 two much flow in a 55 gal. If i have them on a timer so both will run together for a short time. I will be running about 5x through the sump.

nom it should not be too much, especially if they are not on at the same time.
the sieos have a good flow rate, but its through a wide opening, so it wont feel as strong as you think it should..

you should be fine, even if you run them at the same time

be careful running Seio's on a timer or wavemaker....they have a reputation for restart problems.

If you have sand watch out for milking the tank.

I have 2 820's and a 620 in my 55. It is a good amount of flow but far from to much.

Seios are not designed for a wavemaker and they are very chattery on startup. I wouldnt want to listen to them all the time

Very true! I ran mine in a wavemaker for about a month but I couldn't get use to the chatter.

yes, sorry i totally forgot about this... SIEOS are not meant to run on timers or wavemakers.

You can always adj. down the flow, but not up!

I have SEIO 1100 + SEIO 820 + MaxiJet1200 + MaxiJet900 and return from sump in my 55G. Lots of flow and my DSB stays in place!
