If I hadn't just gone through the heat wave myself, I'd be telling you that you should have bought a generator... however, now that I know more about generators.. like the fact that they sound like a flock of harleys outside the Black Watch and the fact that you have to worry about the exhaust going in your window or the neighbour's window... I realise that it's just about impossible to deal with no electricity in a heat wave living in an apartment.
