Ok Everyone ! I am selling my live rock for $200.00 Good corline growth 60 lbs. Pro clear skimmer with pump $50.00 6 months old.
I will throw in all live stock, med fox face, 2 purcula clowns, 4 damsels and 1 golden head sleeper goby. Plus snails ,crabs, and 1 coral banded shrimp. I also have 6 -7 zoas and polyps I will take a beating on $15 each. I will throw in a 48" pc light and all chemicals. Sorry I don't have a pic ,no digital camara. Pick up would be best , if close enough I'd meet 1/2 way . you're more than welcome to stop by my house to see what your buying. I personally think this is a good deal.

I stopped by murph's house today to check out the tank and snatch up the good stuff before anyone else could. He has a nice tank. The tank is a about a year old and except for a few corals that require more light or had special needs looks great. Its a 55 gallon set up with hang on Filter and a seperate hang on skimmer.(no sump). The water quality looked good and must be because he has a flame scallop for about a year when most people can omly keep them about 6 months. Except for an occasional algae bloom has no real issues. More then I can say for some of us(myself included) using RO/DI.

Now the bad news, he is keeping the setup. I think it comes down to not understanding every coral he had and lack of a support system that got him a little disheartened. I gave him some info on the corals he had along with food requirements which will help his corals out. Check out his coral banded shrimp, He didn't come out much but was definately the biggest I have seen.

I am posting some pics I took while I was there.(my camera doesn't have the best lens for this but it gives the over all look of the tank.

He has a pair of clowns, 2 blue damsels, 2 4 stripe damsels, golden headed sleaper goby,and a fox face.

This guy is huge and would not come out all the way for his pic.

Here are some that need love. I gave him some directions on their care. Like target feeding, higher in the tank or he should find a new home for.

Here is one coral I am not familiar with its needs or name. Can anyone help? He said when he got it, the coral had red polips or tints.

The Gonipora is a large polyp stony (LPS) coral often referred to as Goniopora Flower Pot, Ball, Daisy, or Sunflower Coral. The flower names refer to its appearance when all of its polyps are opened. It takes on the visage of a bouquet of flowers. Once open, the Coral is a gorgeous hard coral with free-flowing short polyps. It is aggressive, and ample space should be provided between itself and other neighboring corals. Its polyps can extend far past its base into the reef aquarium, where they can sting other species of corals. Clownfish, will often play in its polyps if no anemone can be found in the reef aquarium. This may actually be detrimental to the coral. Goniopora sp. require PERFECT water conditions, the proper trace elements and the habitat must match its requirements. In general, the Red form of the Flower Pot Coral does better in an aquarium than other Gonipora sp. One can only do this Goniopora Coral justice by leaving its care to the experienced hobbyist with the expertise and time to keep the coral properly. The symbiotic algae zooxanthellae hosted within its body provides the majority of its nutritional requirements from photosynthesis. It should be fed phytoplankton or brine shrimp atleast once a week.

I dont recognise the 1st or 3rd coral pictures, but that candycane could definatly use a move up in the tank and some feedings. Might take a time or two before it actually accepts, but once it does it will eat like a pig.

Im not sure if that coral is a gonipora or alevapora as im not quite sure how to distinguish between the two, however if it is gonipora then I might be able to give a little advice as I have looked into their care (never actually had one though).

From what I have read, they need a regular supply of plankton, daily is best if not constant, and would need to be higher up in the tank. I have to disagree with the pristine water quality that you said though, since the people that I have read keeping them sucessfully acually had the most luck in tanks that didnt have skimmers running and had large refugiums... these corals suffer from the same problems that many elegance corals do, in that they come from highly turbid areas where there is alot of plankton and dissolved organics that they filter out of the water all day long. If it did indeed have red on it then there is at least a chance, as all of the ones that I have heard of being kept sucessfully were red or reddish, they seem to be more photosynthetic than the others. I would say that you should try feeding it and if that doesnt work dont feel to bad... its not really your fault that it died. They arent really well suited for our glass boxes, no matter how hardy the LFS tells you that they are, which is a shame because they are so beautiful. I wouldnt really recommend getting a gonipora to anyone but very advanced hobbiests.

Actually I know what all the rest are. The 1st is a rose bubble tip that is very hungry. It has pretty good color considering its under CF lights. He is going to try and feed it small bits of silversides 2 + times per day till it gets healthy. The 2nd is a fungia plate which usually is found on the sand bed under med light. It needs good calcium levels and is a filter feeder supplemented with shrimp or squid. I think his lights might be a little low for this but it still has some color. The 3rd is a condi anemone which is doing pretty well but could use a feeding once a week
