tetra the pokerstar is not a rainbow. The new pollyps are red and then turn green as the coral grows. Here is the picture of the coral when I got it

The true watermelon chalice is a hard find for $200 and that is for a frag the size of a dime. There are alot of imitations out there and they are usually cheaper. This particular piece my friend is most likely no fake. Since it's origin was probably snipersps.

just curious, so is it originally from snipersps or not? If it is the original, I might be interested. If not, I would rather go to the original owner. Is there any way to prove which is which and which is the true original?

yes there is a way take a look at reeffarmers site. It explains how snipersps got his piece and why this coral became so popular.

Obviously the frag. is better looking than the original colony but still, it looks like some of the rainbow monti I've seen posted here on rc

Man those are some crazy, out of my league, corals. I think my chick would beat me if i came home with those and told her how much they actually cost. Beautiful though. And who cares who the heck was the first person to bring them to the hobby. They're nice either way.

Hey Steve are you planning on running the 1000w on the 240 in the middle or with some other lights. It should look good once its all set up. Well i still have one more watermelon chalice that iam keeping maybe when that one grows we can work something out. Well let me know if you need any helps as well.
