Separating Zoas On Large Frag

i bought a frag disc with some maul's and a few other unknowns from my lfs a few weeks ago and the zoas on it are getting to the point where soon i'll have to separate and place them in areas that they can stretch out a little more.
i'm curious what would be the best way to part these guys? many of them seem to be fragged to shells or rock which were them fastened to the disc itself or i can cut the entire base disc apart.
i'm just trying not to damage anything.

this photo was the day i got them and they've since grown and relaxed considerably

Trying to break up that rock and separate them would be more trouble than it's worth IMO. How big is that rock exactly? Once it fills up you'll definitely have a nice little zoanthid garden there. You can always just frag the zoas and place a polyp here & there as well. GL.

You should be able to pry the the little pieces that each group is attached to off the base disk. Looks like this piece was man made from pieces of different colonies glued to a disc. You can then glue that to anything you want.

the base is probably a 4" circle. this photo is 3 weeks later and what it currently looks like. my tank is centered around zoa's so i'm trying to get a nice divided look instead of a mishmash of different kinds growing everywhere. sorry for the crappy photo.

you can always use a chisel/screwdriver and hammer to split up the base. if it's not too think you can use side cutters too. first try to see where the weak spots in the base are so you know where it will likely be easiest to split it.

Ive bought several of those discs, like suggested earlier they are smaller pieces of rubble that are glued onto the larger disc so you should be able to snap them off, so to say. You might lose a few or they might just already be attached to the original disc since they have grown quite a bit. Nice looking disc btw.

I usually take the original frag disk and move it it to a different place in the tank once there is a heavily populated area.
