We will be kicking off the 2007 - 2008 SEASL "season" with a Lighting discussion at the Weber Road branch of the St. Louis Library.
Curt will add more details of the meeting soon. I do know that we will unveil SEASL's new Light PAR meter and I'm sure we will see a demo of it. This will be available for club members to borrow as soon as we work out the details.
Look forward to seeing everyone there!! Meeting starts at 10:00am

Only a few more days until our first meeting!!!!
Looks to be a good one. Jim Craig is donating corals to be raffled and it looks like a couple other items will be raffled as well!
Hope to see everyone there!!!!

Tom

Just a reminder about tomorrow's meeting. I will be explaining the difference between a LUX meter and a PAR meter and why SEASL voted to buy the much more expensive PAR meter.

It should be noted that world famous Dana Riddle was a substantial help to the club in determining where we could get the "Best Bang for the Buck" on the meter.

Joy from PFO lighting will be demonstrating their new Solaris LED lighting which I have seen and I can ensure you, it's quite impressive.

More information on this lighting can be found here. http://www.solarisled.com/

Dana Riddle did a review on this lighting here. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2006/8/review2

PS....THERE IS A DAIRY QUEEN NEARBY THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE LIKE TO GO EAT AT AFTER THE MEETING. (EAT A SMALL BREAKFAST). IN ADDITION, THIS LIBRARY LOCATION IS ONLY ABOUT 5 MINUTES FROM GATEWAY AQUATICS ON TELEGRAPH ROAD.

For those who would like to read some more of his articles on lighting, here's a few links.

It was great to see everyone again! I really enjoyed the presentation by Joy from PFO lighting. VERY interesting. Hope everyone's new corals and fish are doing well.

Jim Craig

Jim, thanks very much, as usual, for your donations for raffles at the meetings. My new birdsnest is sitting looking happy in my coral QT. Good polyp extension and color after the transport home. Look forward to getting him into my big tank. Thanks again!

I had a great time.

Thanks to Joy and PFO lighting for the MH reflector, bulb, and ballast that was raffled off to benefit the club.

Thanks to Anthony Calfo and Dana Riddle for their donations as well.
