Sounds like a good meeting. I'm looking forward to hearing more about the Micro Frag Swap. Will it be open to both members and non-members?

Everyone is welcome. You do not need to be a member but we encourage you to join. We are adding some new programs and we need help in several areas. Keep an eye on the SEASL.ORG forum for further information.

The club does not operate for profit and it's bi-laws do not allow for endorsements like that. Several LFS choose to give club members an incentive to do business with them and I am working to identify those retail outlets both online and local and I will post that on the SEASL website.

I would suggest that you come to a meeting and see what we are all about. There are 2 clubs in town and they have different formats but the same goal, to help other reefers to be successful which in turn helps reduce the impact on the wild reefs of the world. I am part of both and there are great people in each and like me, many are members in SEASL and SLASH. Check them out and sign up for both.

Hey Faz let me go a little further on what kind of deals you get for being a member.
#1 You get to be associated with other people just like yourself that are willing to discuss fish related topics and problems you may have or have had in the past.
#2 You get free yes free advice from people that have been in the reef keeping hobby for years, people that have had the ups and downs that come with this hobby and can tell you how to avoid them before they cost you lots of money.
#3 You get free yes once again free frag swaps with other members saving you tons of money in shipping costs that you would other wise have if you shopped on e-bay or other out of town sites. Or sometimes you may not even need to swap some members may just give you a free frag just for the asking.
#4 Well I could go on and on but I think you get the point.
To me the best things in life are not always free so to say but they require very little money and just a bit of time.

Nicely put.

You will find that there are a lot of people that can save you ton by helping you figure out what NOT to do. And typically you don't have to ask for frags. I have made out like a bandit at the raffles.

Thanks to Joe, Rich, & Tom for a content packed meeting. You guys obviously put in a ton of time preparing for this meeting.

Joe, great PowerPoint presentation on club info.

Henry, excellent tank of the month presentation and pictures.

Rich, very nice job on the Ricordia presentation, great pics, and awesome propagation demonstration.

Hope everyone who tried their hand at fragging the Ricordia got their new babies home in good condition. Thanks much to Gateway for the Ricordia used in this demonstration!

I love the new blue/green mushroom I got at the mico- swap. Looks like there were some great corals, in the raffle too.

Of course, as Membership Chairman, I want to say welcome to all the new members and thanks to all who renewed yesterday.

Hope to see everyone at Beldt’s on 9/24!
