Well heres my problem i have a 75 gal reef tank with 30 gal sump and 15 gal refugium i can't seem to keep the algae growth down it is over taking my tank basically since i added my sump my tank as turned to crap i can't even keep a colt coral alive what should i do.

Also i have my 75 gal reef without a sump going for 3 years with no problems now that i added the sump a few months ago it's doing this

Any idea please let me know

whats the parameters? amonia, nitrite, NITRATE, PHOSPHATE, and anything else that has been tested.

Simply adding a sump shouldnt do this. Did you build the sump yourself? if so, what type of silicone did you use? If you used the wrong one it might start killing stuff, however i dont know if it would cause algae to grow.

Do you have any chaeto or anything in the fuge? if not, get some.

We need to know a lot more to get the whole picture and help you figure out what's going on.

The best place to start is with your levels, especially NO3 and PO4. Lighting, photoperiod, flow rate, bioload and feeding routine will help round out the picture. A photo of the algae would help as well.
