SERIPC9 stops data flow

Hi

I have my Aquacontroller conected to my home PC and using Aquanotes I wish to webserve the water details. When connected directly the system works but gives very low pH reading. I bought a SERIPC9 unit but when this is inserted into the cabling the data transfer between PC<>AQ2 stops.
I get the " Aquacontroller Not Responding" message when I click the status button.

Any help will gratefully accepted

The problem is likely caused by a serial cable not having the required internal connections. Extra connections are required to supply power to the SERIPC9; these extra connections are not used if the isolator is not installed.
Some things to check:
- The isolator should be oriented so that the DB9 female end plug is closest to your PC, and male DB9 connector plugs into the AquaController cable.
- If you made your own serial cable then you need make sure that it has the following internal connections. See http://www.neptunesys.com/hardwareFAQ.htm#CABLE.
- If you have a serial extension cable then pins 2, 3, 4 and 5 should connect straight thru (male DB9 on one end and female DB9 on the other). The isolator should plug between the AquaController's serial cable, and the expansion cable.

Thanks Curt, I checked the wiring and indead the connection to pin 1 had become loose at the PC end..
