Serranocirrhitus latus

I have a pair. I got them from DD and they started eating as soon as they were out of the bag. They like their hiding spots and spend a lot of time in them. They don't swim around a lot.

I have one. She only eats frozen foods, and is a shy feeder. Although she is almost always out in the open, she is always prepared to dart back into the rocks. She is easily intimidated and gets nervous when other fish swim by quickly. The only fish she doesn't get along with is my potters angel; they don't like each other at all. I'm thinking about adding a couple more females and hopefully one of them will become a male.

Overall, I would say it is a beautiful little fish that needs a peaceful aquarium with lots of hiding places in order to thrive.

I've kept a few of these before in larger "community" reef tanks without other aggressive fish, but they were still too skittish to really thrive and eventually disappeared. I see a lot of folks recommending them though - maybe they're just easier to maintain in smaller tanks. :-/

I just took a picture of my sunburst, so here it is.

Iv had seven of them together. They were shy at first but after that they were always swimming in the water column. The the only thing they would eat was mysis and spirulina brine. There was a definate hierarchy. The males had there own section of the tank and the females or at least i think they were females were allowed to swim anywhere. B ut then a sulphur denitrator accident nuked them :(. nyaquatic has some jumbo ones for a good price too

How would one of these tolerate or be tolerated by a group (six) of blue-green chromis? The chromis are established in my 210 gallon fowlr.

Yeah, not sure about this. I think it would depend on whether the chromis are large and more likely to be bossy, and the size of the new fathead. Eg I have a miserable, moody, large bangaii Cardinal, who bosses around a 2" fathead, but not a large one. Go figure.

Would also depend on how busy the tank is with other planktivores.
