Setosa Help

I have a well established sps dom. reef with good stable water and alot of very happy little polyps except for one little guy. My LFS gave me a frag of setosa that had been brought in on a tank crash or take down or something like that and she gave it to me to try and save along with several others. All are doing great and starting to return from the grave except the setosa. I cannot find a place that will make it happy and it is starting to receed. I know it could have been to far gone when I got it but I don't want to give up on the little guy. I need placement help. I have very high light and high flow all the way down to shaded low flow areas. Any suggestions are welcome to try and help him. Thanks

I can't get a picture that looks like anything but a blob. My picture skills are almost as bad as the camera on my phone. I'll see if I can get my daughters camera later and post a pic.

My setosa does very well about 8" off the bottom of my 36" tank under 400w SE 14K Ushios; med flow.

Setosa's will do well in several tank locations. They adapt well to high light as well as a more moderate light location. People have success with them high and low in the tank. I have mine low under an 8 X 54 TEK T5.
Yours may be in bad shape before you got it and may or may not recover. Moving it around or placing it in a high light spot will most likely not help it. I would place it lower in the tank in a moderate flow spot and leave it alone. If it recovers at that spot you can start to move it up if you choose.
The most important thing it to let it be and not mess with it by moving it around. If it continues to recede you may need to frag off some healthy parts and remount it. Good luck
Joe

mine is about 12" beneath a 250w Phoenix and grows crazy fast.
