setting up a mushroom tank

I have a "spare" 10 gallon tank that I am thinking about setting up as a little mushroom tank. I have sand and rock and a light for the tank. Could I just use a back filter for filtration? Do I need a power head in there for water movement? Temperature kept at about 80 degrees?????? How close together can the shroons be? Thanks for your help. I will post a picture once it is set up.

I'm not an expert and I've never tried a tank like this, but here's my opinion:

If you aren't going to feed the tank much you can probably get away with very little filtration.

A HOB filter would probably provide plenty enough flow as well, so you probably wouldn't need a powerhead (most shrooms like low flow).

The proximity of shrooms depends on the type you plan to put in there. Not all shrooms get along, but some are prefectly fine close together.

80 should be fine as long as you keep it consistent.
