setting up a schedule for a friend

I'm going to sell a gen 1 Radion to a friend a few states away.
She has never used a Radion and I was thinking I could help her out by setting up a new tank schedule in my ESL account.
Going with a acclimation period, preset program, starting intensity and ending intensity.
Then when she gets the light, all she has to do it to plug it in and it should be all setup for the first 4-5 weeks.
Is this going to work?

You can do this, but if your friend ever wanted to change programming, they would need to create an ESL account and program the Radion again.

My idea was to get the program set up for her to get her started.
Then she would have time to create the account and log in and look around before any major changes had to be done.

Program the light for her and then email the file from ESL to her so she can have it and change anything she wants easily.

I was thinking of setting up a account with her email and a password of her choosing, then when she gets the light all she has to do is log in and everything will be setup and if she wants, she can change it then.

I wonder if we do this and after a while she decides to upgrade the gen 1 to a gen 3, will the program in place continue?

If the upgrade happens after the acclimation program is done, would a new acclimation program be needed?

I think you have to just reprogram the light when it comes back. You wouldnt have to restart the acclimation period if you got a comparable light while the gen 1 was being upgraded.
