Setting up a tank tomorrow, quick question

Ok guys I finally got everything set up and just placed my order for live rock and live sand. I ordered it from sealifeinc.net and it is coming overnight and will arrive tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m. However I seriously injured my leg on 4th of July so my Dad was going to come over and set up my tank because I cant walk but he doesnt get off till 5 PM. Would it be ok to mix up a batch of saltwater in my mixing container to let the rock soak in until he gets over or should I just leave everything in the shipping containers? Another question that just hit me is what is the best temperature for the water while the tank is cycling?

You could mix a bucket of saltwater and leave the LR in there, that may help with die off, either way I don't think it will be a big deal since the tank is still going to have to cycle. If you mix the water in the bucket and drop the LR in I would throw in a pump of some sort just to get circulation going. I let my tanks cycle at around 75-80degrees, I am not sure that it matters though.

Since your going to have to cure the LR I would do just what you suggested. Also I wouldn't worry about getting it all set in the tank, I would save that for when its cure and you are more moble.

I probably wont be walking for another 2 months because I tore my acl, mcl, and injured my miniscus and need at least one surgery. I guess I will just have the FedEx guy bring the box in and try to toss the rock in my mixing container. It already has water in it cause I mixed 17 gallons for my 12g nano and 5g eclipse and it still has about 5 gallons in there because the eclipse isnt set up yet. I did buy a pump and a heater for my 20g mixing container so everything should be alright.
