Setting up an X10 device

I filled up my DC8 so in a pinch I decided to try and add an X10 device into the mix. I'm trying to run it using a DJ power strip. I have the module with the phone line plugged into #1 on the DJ Strip and the first control module plugged into #3 on the strip. I have the control module set to C1 and its hooked to a maxijet.

On my ACjr I'm using the statement

IF Time > 23:00 ATO ON and if TIME > 23:01 ATO OFF

The problem I'm having is the module always has power even if I turn it off using manual control.

What am I doing wrong??

Do you mean that the X10 AC Line Interface is in outlet #1 and the X10 module (C1) is in outlet #3 on the same power strip?

How is the AC Line Interface connected; you should be using a 4-wire phone line, connected between the AC Line Interface and the Control Out of the DC8 (or the last direct connect device in the daisy chain)?

Yes, the line interface is in outlet #1 (red light is on) and the X10 module (C1) is in outlet #3 on the same power strip.

I have a 4-wire phone cord going to the line interface connected to the Control Out of my my Neptune Lunar module.

It's been such a long time since I used X10; does the AC Line Interface LED flash every so often? Be sure you haven't duplicated addresses with C1, you have a C1 timer programmed, etc. You might want to try a different address; I have seen X10 address dials bad.

Curious question; since you made a note of the outlet strip being a DJ outlet strip; it doesn't by chance have buillt-in filters does it? I had an outlet that had such good filtering that it cleaned the X10 signal right off the wire and nothing worked.

Yes, the AC Line LED flashes every so often. I checked, can't find a duplicate address. I tried 3 different X10 modules and none of them work right, so I didn't bother trying a different address.

I'm not sure if the DJ outlet strip has filters or not, I supposed it's possible. I'll see if I can hopefully find a regular power strip and let you know if that makes a difference.

*UPDATE* Its working now. It seems waiting 5 minutes isn't enough for the commands to be sent from the ACJr to the Control interface. I waited about 15 minutes and now it works. So it appears as if it takes somewhere between 5 and 15 minutes for the new commands to be sent.
