so I opted out of buying one of the packages with the tunze kalk reactor, due to the fact it doesnt hold als much kalk as i would like, anyways, i notices on your pics in the manual of the 3155, the kalk set up has a check valve on it, So in setting up my auto top off, i added a check valve to the line, tested it, and it worked fine, but today i came home to find that my top off resivoir was still completely full, my return pump had run dry, and my top off controller said TOO LOW. (only been set up 2 days now, the setup was bought new less than 1 week ago)

1- Is the check valve used a special check valve or just one they use for air line tubing( thats the only one i could find),

2-if it is a special one, where can i get one?

It could be your pump just needs to prime, tip it upside down while it is running to purge out any air.

1) We do use a special check valve, it is US made, opens at .5 psi and is 302 stainless ball and 316 spring with a nitrile sealand polypropylene body.

2) Part 5074.010 on tunze.com, your valve may work, but kalkwasser is very hard on these valves so expect an airline version to last only about 6-12 months. The duckbill or ball and spring style are the only ones that will open at a low enough pressure.
