setting up new 215g rr tank

I am getting ready to set up my my tank.The wife and i are thinking of making this a fish only tank.What i am thinking of doing is running a canister filter to one overflow and making a sump for the other.does this sound like a good idea?If so is there a suggested canister filter to run?Thanx in advance for any advice.

I think you should rethink that.

The guy that i bought the tank off of had it running with 2 canisters.Also i was thinking of only running one canister on one side and a sump on the other.

Good idea for canister filters for media storage purposes...

I personally wouldn't touch canister filters for a good tank. That's just me.

If you are going to have a sump anyways, just make it big enough for both overflows. One decent pump should provide the return you need. Leave the canister filters for the ponds and the Goldfish tanks at the Japanese Rests
